The Friday Feeling feels the pain

Naturally the European football of a Thursday dictates the Friday discourse. Motherwell Fantastico Club were the stars again and Bloomhearts built on their domestic league win with a home draw. The only game I was able to watch was Leith in North Macedonia and though the result was as required the game itself was a complete non event. And then there was Ibrix……
A draw bounced the Rangers out of the Europa League and into the Conference Pear League. That’s their level now said beleaguered boss Derek McInnes. He has no answers, only excuses. Loving the club and a different kind of “success” elsewhere does not make you the correct fit or a staunch magician.
The opposite of love isn’t hate, it’s indifference. And there are clear signs of apathy now within the Rangers support.
Adding to the shambles of it all was expected new signing and vowel obsessive Couhaib Driouech being at the game last night and then the transfer being pulled this morning.
The spin machine was in overdrive with this one.
Premier Sports Cup takes centre stage this weekend. Killie have edged the Ayrshire Derby 3-2 tonight. All the games are available across Premier Sports so I’m going to be all over that. That means no Slimline Sportscene this weekend. My thoughts turned to Steven Thompson who’s TV time appears to be going through The Blip.
Aberdeen and Stephen Robinson are firmly on the critics radar this week after last Saturday’s abject failure at Dundee. Same opponent, different venue in the Cup. Nerves are frayed at Cormack Park.
There’s been a few goodbyes this week that I wanted to acknowledge.
Mo Diamonde, Dimi Mitov, Sandy Kyziridis (he’s already scored a beezer) and Ernie Angles is about to join West Ham. Good luck gentlemen.
