Welcome to Thursday. I hope you enjoyed’s yesterday’s story.

I know that I encourage subscribers to upgrade to paid if you can but there is an alternative for those who want to occasionally pay something without being tied to a monthly amount or those who want to pay a bit more as a thank you.

Think of it as The Stickler Tip Jar.

If you’d like to drop a tip in the jar then please click here.

Is anybody else getting slightly peeved by the Stuart Kettlewell roadshow. The guy is everywhere just now.

To be honest I’m not 100% convinced by some of his claims. Plus he’s been pretty clear he’s an aggressive person who gave officials both barrels on plenty of occasions. Obviously there’s a line, it just seems there’s a bit of a sketchy narrative going on. See if he turns up on Open All Mics or the Sportscene sofa this week. Neither would be a surprise but would definitely be a disappointment.

A couple of bits of business news on the football front. I’ll leave the analysis stuff to the experts. There’s been a rumbling story about British clubs claiming tax credits for “research and development” costs and now HMRC are trying to claw it back if it wasn’t for scientific advancement. So far Rangers, Hibs and Dundee United have been called out for making claims. No laughing at the back now, this is a serious matter. At least Dundee United will have some genuine basis for their claim.

If you kept a straight face there this might be a bit of a struggle. The San Francisco 49ers are interested in investing in The Rangers. I’m sure Scottish Niners fans are nauseous at the thought. Will it actually happen? Who knows.
