Sun’s out, goals galore. Let’s not piss about.

The biggest story of last week was Victor Wanyama signing for Dunfermline. His debut from the bench didn’t go too well as he was red carded for a deliberate handball but at least we have a new dance - everyone do the Wanyama!

I was at Easter Road on Saturday for Hibs v Perth Saints - sunshine, showers and shite fitba from the away side. It shows how far Hibs have come that they absolutely coasted this in first gear. Saints are were rank rotten. Soft, passive, easy to beat and an xG of 0.02 from one attempt at goal in the game. Hibs were handed goals on a plate.

Could have been more if they had a half decent centre forward starting - Kuharevich must be the worst 99 in history.

Saturday night Sportscene was a weird watch. The frame rates were off kilter so none of the match videos were of quality. Far worse however was the sight of Stuart Kettlewell on the pundit sofa. I suppose it was inevitable but that doesn’t stop it being disappointing that yet again it’s jobs for the sacked managers at BBC Scotland. At least Naisy was able to provide a quality to the broadcast.

Fresh from their home defeat to the Rangers, Celtic were back at Paradise to pump Gorgie Analytics. As always the away fans enjoyed a restricted view of the action. To their credit, Celtic made sure all the goals were scored at the end the Gorgie faithful could see.

A bonus for everyone at the match was a glimpse of Martin Compston filming his new series, the life story of Shakin’ Stevens. In this scene Shaky finally discovers what’s behind the green door.

There’s another nine cartoons coming up but first an important message.

When I started The Stickler I was aiming to have each newsletter completed in 1-2 hours. As time has gone on the newsletter gets bigger and bigger and on days like today is taking 4-6 hours. As a reader I really hope you value my work. I need paying subscribers to be able to keep The Stickler running so if you are able to support me please consider becoming a paying subscriber. It’s just me on my own, I don’t have any backers or anything to fall back on like if I was part of newspaper group. I believe the value is amazing at less than £5 a month (only £4 a month if you take out an annual subscription).
