The Friday Stickler
Rangers hold out against Bilbao, a weekend of selective football viewing and oh Rory not again at The Masters
Hello everyone
Another relatively early morning drop for The Stickler. Interestingly the last couple of days with the earlier posting have seen a lower open rate. Thought the opposite would happen although it’s a small sample size.
There was tremendous feedback on Pundits Club so they will definitely be making a return.
Please keep sharing the word about The Stickler. I’m sure there are plenty of people who would enjoy it that probably don’t even know it exists.
And if you are considering a paying subscription then there’s no better time than today.
The last thing I watched last night before I fell asleep was Rory McIlroy ballsing it up at the Masters again.
C’mon Rory man, get it together today please.
Throughout April I’m running a special offer for paying subscribers. I welcome all subscribers free and paying so whatever you are thank you for being here and please help spread the word so we can build this community. I call it:
A MASSIVE STICKLER OFFER
Let’s talk about the Rangers last night. Thursday Rangers are a different beast as we all know and so it proved again as despite playing most of the game with ten men (and for a wee bit nine men) they held firm for a 0-0 draw with Athletic Bilbao.
That clean sheet is largely thanks to short arsed goalie Liam Kelly’s penalty save.
Yes, Barry Ferguson made some big calls that paid off (except the Tav situation) none more so than swapping keepers. Dropped Holey Goalie Jack Butland was full of praise for his replacement.
Barry was delighted with how it played out.
Less delighted and, frankly, making an arse of himself, was Ally McCoist. The man who never seems to take a day off from the commentary box has gone from cheeky chappy to a massive pain in the arse over the last couple of seasons. For some reason TNT Sports love him but then they do have the worst pundit rota in the history of televised sport. Anyway, McCoist ranted about the Rangers red card until he was red, white and blue in the face. You know he’s miles off when Alan Hutton and Alex Rae aren’t agreeing with you.
Elsewhere in the Europa League another couple of Andre Onana clangers meant it was 2-2 for Man United in Lyon. Spurs finished 1-1 against Frankfurt. Ange has found someone else to blame for his teams misfortunes now.
Next up is the weekend preview including the unveiling of Brendan Rodgers new vehicle.
