Shock and Awe Naw
A night of surprises mixed in with a standard refereeing shitshow.
Welcome to Thursday.
My predictions were awful last night. Here are my observations from last night’s games.
Paisley Saints 2-2 Bloomhearts
There was one man who is systematically trying to destroy Scottish football.
His name is Matthew MacDermid and he’s being enabled by Willie Collum.
It doesn’t matter if he’s the on pitch referee or the VAR official, Matthew will make sure and do something incompetent that fundamentally affects the game. Last season he made a number of high profile mistakes that were frequently called out in the media. This season he’s gone from strength to strength. No matter how often he fucks up, he is never held to account and will always find himself covering top games. Incompetency is being rewarded. Last night when Paisley scored a legitimate goal he was called to the monitor by Nick Walsh (also culpable here) to check an infringement by Mark O’Hara on Larry Shankland.
They had for a split second brushed arms and fingers touched fingers. It had zero effect on the goal. In fact, it was quite a heartwarming moment. Not for “Pick Me” Matthew who after watching replays decided to disallow the goal. What a c*nt.

Leith Football Team 0-1 The Rangers
I was at this game caller. An insipid contest on a cold night. The Rangers didn’t have to do too much to win against a Leith team that appeared to be coached by Russell Martin such were the patterns of their play.
