Reality check yourself
Time to lower the expectations
Hello
Friendly Scotland succumbed to another defeat yesterday in their farewell tour of misery before heading to the USA. There was only one goal in it and if we didn’t have a half arsed (in height and attitude) keeper in goals we wouldn’t have conceded in the first place to Ivory Coast.
Hopefully that’s enough evidence to keep Liam Kelly off the flight in the summer.

Now is the time to be realistic about Scotland. We’re repeating the same cycle as our last pre-tournament. You can’t take away the giddiness of that win over Denmark just like you couldn’t take away the memories of beating Spain and that night at the Ullevi. In the end when it comes to tournament football, Steve Clarke will be dull and pragmatic and that might be enough to eke out a place in the knockout stages given the way the tourney is set up now. We’re going to struggle to score and if John Souttar is playing we’ll struggle not to make a horlicks of it defensively.
