Premier Sports Cup Semi Final Special
Hellboy’s fist, Ralston’s plums and Butland’s exploding head.
Hello
That’s October done then with 150+ cartoons in the books again. If you’ve not got a paid subscription yet to see them all then you really should think about doing that.
The Roaster league predictions were dynamite again, three out of three there. I did watch Sportscene but Thommo’s clean shave coupled with Neil McCann’s fresh haircut got me too discombobulated to draw anything from those games. Instead I’ve focussed on the two cup semi finals.
Paisley Saints 4-1 Motherwell
I’m sure many, like me, fancied Motherwell to turn on the style on the bigger Hampden pitch. That didn’t quite work out because the Saints were brilliant. I’ve picked three of their four goals. Mikael Mandron blootered in the first from close range then Dan Nlundulu did a nifty spin and finished in style to make it two.
Well got one back but their joy was short lived. Richard King burst through and shot just as he was falling on his arse. Comedy defensive scenes followed.
Icing on the cake was ordered and Killian Phillips and his Hellboy arm thought he was the master baker only for his keepy-uppy-volley to hit the bar. Instead it was Mikael Mandron who served up the showstopper from the rebound.
A Hampden final for the Paisley Saints then and another big fish for Stephen Robinson.

Celtic 3-1 The Rangers (aet)
No surprise that this game ended up oozing perceived controversy and refereeing whinges.
