Hello

How many pivotal weekends can we have? Probably eight more I’d imagine. Friday night pivot is Patrick O’Thistle v Perth Saints. That one is on as I type. There are no goals at half time but Tony Watt reports sock sales as “brisk” which is welcome news.

Before I get into any more of that, I’ve watched the first two episodes of BBC Scotland’s three part Ultras documentary. I’ve enjoyed it for the most part without learning anything new. The Patrick and M’Well ultras come across pretty well and you can see the amount of effort and own money they put into things. The sneering polis perspective is as expected. I’m not sure why we’re following a 10 year old with a drum but the biggest shock for me was discovering that fitba vlogger Blair McNally is solely responsible for the rise of the ultras in his opinion. I’ve no idea why the doc gives him so much airtime really but since they have I feel I have to bow or curtsy too with a respectful cartoon.

We can’t all be as popular and important as Blair. Some of us struggle to climb the bottom few rungs of the fitba ladder.
