A Weekend Stickler
It’s all about having a solid morning routine
Hey everyone
This is one of your bonus weekend posts that’s a little bit different to the daily sports coverage. I hope it gives you some insight to my stick-figure cartooning. There’s a little bit of a free intro here but this bonus post is for paid subscribers. This is my job and I believe my cartoons are worth paying for but I realise that not everyone can do that. The Daily Stickler only exists for everyone due to the contributions of paid subscribers. Whether it’s for access to bonus content or because you value what I do, please consider becoming a paid subscriber if you can.
As The Stickler comes out every weekday before 9am (okay, sometimes a wee bit after but that’s the aspiration) I thought we’d look at what makes a solid morning routine.
First of all it’s important to meet my inner critic as he tends to run the show. When I’ve been talking about my mental health on Twitter I’ve drawn this guy in some different ways because when my depression or anxiety or BPD (I have the trifecta) are on the up he can be a pretty dark force.
That kind of look only gives him more power though so I’m not having that. This is what he really looks like.
I’ve not decided on a name for him yet. Probably Brian or maybe Kevin. We’ll see.
Yeah, okay then, routine. Number one is you’ve got to get up at 5am right. Pitch dark, birds sleeping, no excuses.
Once your up it’s time to look in the mirror and do those positive affirmations.
