Aberdeen were skudded out of Europa League qualification and will instead ply their trade in the Conference League this season. They started well enough in Bucharest and seemed to be holding their own until Sandy Jensen handled the ball instead.
No doubt it was an incredibly shit decision by officials and most likely wouldn’t be given in Scotland or England but it’s a different story when it’s European referees. It was a second yellow too for Jensen. Last week FCSB played the majority of the game with 10 men and managed the 2-2 draw but from the moment it happened there was no sense, from me anyway, that Aberdeen would find their way back. And so it was that Jimmy Thelin subbed off Polvara and brought on Polaroids Nilsen. How did that work out for you JT?
Over in Warsaw it was a different story with a worse ending for the Leithers. A brilliant rally to go ahead 3-1 unravelled in the end but it was a very decent show. I tell you what, that Miguel Chaiwa is going to be a player. Very impressed with him last week and he scored a tremendous goal last night.
So it’s Thursday & Sunday fitba for Celtic, Rangers and Aberdeen up to Christmas and the coefficient is in the toilet.
