A Cup win cures all ills
The Monday review looks back at the Premier Sports Cup and looks forward to a very different national team set up (hopefully)
Hello
We have a new Scotland manager / head coach / whatever. Sebastien Pocognoli has been ’handed the reins’ on a lengthy two year contract. He was very successful at Bloomunion SG, less so at Monaco.
It’s a refreshing appointment though I can’t deny that.
Worth noting that he went for a double breasted jacket and closed collar with no tie. That’s bold.
No backroom teams announced yet but Steven Naismith is adamant he’s going to be involved. We’ll see.
I’m about to start experimenting with behind the scene videos and going live on video to draw some thoughts. The equipment has been bought so look out!
Nothing sorts out what ails you quite like a cup game. Rangers boss Jurgen Flopp needed a win more than anyone.
Yes, Derek has leaned further into the mythology with the cardigan. Dearie me.
Stunner of the round was Stenhousemuir turning over Motherwell on the niffin’ plastic pitch. Euan O’Reilly popped up with the 113th minute winner.
Friday night saw an Ayrshire thriller that even Rob McLean’s commentary couldn’t ruin. Killie ended up 3-2 winners as it continued to rain goals in their games.
Cactus McCann was particularly spiky with his pal Jonathan Sutherland of the BBC.
A rancid defeat to Dundee saw Aberdeen boss Stephen Robinson wallowing in the Cesspit of Negativity with Brad Lyons. The cup hits different though and a 3-0 gubbing of the Dee this week saw Robbo in the Hot Tub of Positivity.
Celtic spurted four past Dundee United on Saturday. They had clearly been working on their set plays.
For paying subscribers on Wednesday - a new Scottish football superhero appears on the scene.
Cheers
Keith

So, Poco has come home to Scotland. I remember them from the 1970's, they had half the Eagles at some points. Fantastic country rock a-la Buffalo Springfield and the Burdz. No idea how this will benefit the Tartan Lads as Bill & Ray were more into their folk music, but maybe this fusion will bring an aggressive, attacking style and fresh energy to the national cause ..... Allons-y!
